Aslı Töre is a filmmaker, videographer, and anthropologist from Istanbul, Turkey.
Aslı collaborates with artists and organizations, producing, directing and editing music videos and documentary films.
She completed her high school education at Robert College in Istanbul and her undergraduate studies in Sociology, Psychology and Media & Visual Arts at Koç University, with a summer exchange at UCLA. She received training on visual ethnography at the Netherlands Institute in Athens and worked at various documentary and fiction film productions in Turkey, Greece and the UK. Her original screenplay was selected to become part of the Meetings on the Bridge platform under Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts. She worked as a script reader in productions that were released in the UK, in Turkish TV channels, and Netflix TR.
She holds an MSc in Social Anthropology from St. Antony's College at the University of Oxford. She contributed to research at the European Studies Centre at Oxford upon graduation. Her research focused on the migration diplomacy between Turkey and the EU. She was a speaker at the Global Strategy Forum in 2022.
Her interdisciplinary background informs her approach to every project. She likes showing artistic and playful expression that helps people make sense of—and reshape—their cultural and social worlds.
